This experimental video work was generated by a multitranslation process.
Circular movement loops performed with fire-pois (a traditional maori game) generated the basic sound track which was recorded with binaural microphones. Editing and mixing with sounds of a special
computer software makes you hear exactly what the dancer heard
during recording right inbetween the fireloops.
Informed by this dance performance the movements of a metal spiral into a light source were transferred to video; an analog translation of the rotating, burning pois of the firedance. This audio-visual works has a hypnotic effect.
