Hard working girl

She is a hard working girl
I am her most loving man
She is in labour, she is
By her side, oh yes, I am
With her hand in my hand
With our baby in her womb
We kiss the softest of kisses
Until the world comes tumbling down
Wide and bare
In every way
Ship in distress
Storm in space
Waves of woe
Heavy waft
Pushing, pulling
Strongest draught
Memories of laughter
Caught of pounding blood
All the forces of the universe
Assembled on the spot
Oh, I wish that I could be launched
Into the sea, become a lifeboat
I wish I could command the waters
And the elements
Oh, I wish, how I wish
I were less useless
She is a hard working girl
Drenched with beauty to the core
She has to sail through hell and back
While I stand waiting at the shore
I climb the highest of cliffs to kindle
The most luminous of lights
Raying out into the darkness
Be it the beacon in her night
Wide and bare
She is a hard working girl
I am her most loving boy
She went to sail to the stars and back
She returned with an overload of joy
